My name is Joanie Solomon Rigney.  This is my eighteenth-year teaching in Greene County.  I graduated from Tusculum College with a BS in Elementary Education K-8S and Special Education K-12. I am currently pursuing my Master's in ABA therapy with a projected graduation date of May 2024.  I taught at McDonald Elementary for six years before applying to be the elementary behavior modification teacher at the Educational Center.  I have been the K-5 BEST teacher ever since.  I absolutely love my job!  Not only do I get to introduce myself as the "BEST" teacher in Greene County but I also get to see my students grow every single day.  There are no two days alike in my classroom!

 

I have two WONDERFUL (young adults) kids named Abby and Eli.  Abby is married to my wonderful son-in-law, Cam.  They blessed me with my first grandson this summer, Kane. Eli currently attends UTK where he is completing a degree in Agro-Engineering.  I have an amazing bonus daughter, Cassie and bonus son-in-law, Josh.  I live in Telford with my husband Robbie, my cat and two dogs but can be found in Midway quite often with my dad, Hal.
